In previous semesters, Learning Technologies made available a “course” for students enrolled in online, hybrid, and VCM classes called the “Orientation to Online Learning.” We’ve replaced this “course” with a Blackboard Ultra Organization. The Organization is called “Blackboard Student Support.” Now, all students enrolled in credit classes (regardless of modality) are enrolled in the Organization. And don’t worry, we’ve still included resources on Learning Online!

The Organization includes resources for both Blackboard Original and Blackboard Ultra course types. The change to an Organization from a course is an attempt to keep the students’ course page from getting cluttered. The decision to enroll all credit students was made, as all courses have at least a syllabus posted in a course in Blackboard.

Students can now access the content by navigating from anywhere in Blackboard to the Organizations tab on their Base Navigation. The link to the Organizations tab can be found just below the link to the Courses tab.

Please note that completion of the content in this Organization for students in completely voluntary, however, we hope you’ll encourage your students to access the Organization for both Blackboard Original and Blackboard Ultra course resources.

Additionally, each of you, as faculty, have access to the Organization as well, from the same location.

Note for Staff: If you do not have the role of student or faculty and would like access to the Organization, just let us know and we’ll be happy to add you!
